WordPlay, Inc. was founded in January 2000 by Teresa A. Morgenstern.
Partner Tracy Southers, APR, joined the firm in February 2006.
A native of Camp LeJeune, N.C., Morgenstern graduated
from Ball State University, Muncie, Ind. with a bachelor of arts
degree in
journalism with specialties in sports and feature writing. She
moved from Muncie to Naples in 1990. Prior to launching WordPlay,
Inc.,
she was the public relations manager for WCI Communities. She brings
more than 10 years of industry experience. She is the 2006 president
of the Public Relations Society of America/Gulf Coast Chapter,
the public relations director for the Taste of Collier, a Gulfshore
Business
magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 business professional for 2005,
a two-time National Telly Award winner for script writing and a
five-time Golden Image Award winner, Florida Public Relations Association.
Southers joined WordPlay following a 13-years public
relations career in various corporate and public sector positions.
Southers’ vast
public relations experience encompasses telecommunications, real
estate, hospitality, technology, and city government. Most recently,
Southers was a regional public relations director for Luxury Resorts,
overseeing PR activities for Naples Grande Resort & Club, Edgewater
Beach Hotel & Club and Naples Grande Golf Club. Southers attended
The University of Texas, Austin and received a bachelor of arts degree
in journalism from The University of Texas, Arlington. She attained
the national accreditation in public relations (APR) designation
in 2003. Southers is a member and past president of the Public Relations
Society of America/Gulf Coast Chapter, mentor with the Education
Foundation of Collier County’s Take Stock in Children program,
and a volunteer for the Shelter for Abused Women and Children.
Southers hails from Fort Worth, Texas, and moved to Naples in 2000.
